Succeeding in MLM by Writing Network Marketing Articles: Section One: Keyword Selection

There may be no better form of quality, free, advertising to set you on course toward succeeding in MLM than presenting network marketing articles on the web. You write short, quality, helpful, network marketing articles about some aspect of succeeding in MLM, sprinkle them with the best keywords, and entice the readers to visit your offer or web site.

Succeeding in MLM often depends on the easy availability of your articles, and that will will depend on several requirements of the major search engines (Google, Bing, etc.). These include great keywords, low competition for those keywords from other articles, and the proper proportion of keywords to total words in your network marketing articles. In this first of three related articles I will discuss keyword selection.

Succeeding in MLM depends on the proper use of several tools that are available free on the web. The first you will want to find and master is the Google Key Word Tool (Google it to find it). Never begin network marketing articles without taking this essential first step.

Begin by compiling a list of keywords or phrases that makes sense to you (like ‘selecting key words’, ‘succeeding in MLM’, or whatever relates to your article – offer). Key words are those words that interested people regularly search for on the web when looking for information relevant to their needs. Some of those words will have little competition, that is, will be used in very few articles currently on the web (under 500,000 articles, is best). Those make up your initial pool of target keywords.

The Google Key Word Tool shows the number of times each keyword or phrase was searched for recently and indicates the degree of competition they have (high, medium, low). Go for low – certainly never high. It will also suggest similar keywords for you to consider. Regardless of how great your network marketing articles may be, they will never be read if they don’t include the keywords for which your potential readers (and hopefully, new members or joiners) are looking.

So, first discover those most popular search words and then consider the competition. Look at these two examples about keywords used in network marketing articles. One: The keyword you select is found in 25,000,000 articles. Two: The keyword you select is found in 120,000 articles. Which word gives you the best chance of being seen? The competition will be significantly LESS for the ‘10,000 article’ word, right? It will be completely lost among the 25,000,000 network marketing articles in example one.

Succeeding in MLM depends on many things. The use of practical, well written, network marketing articles is perhaps the best boost you can give your offer. However, it must be crafted in the manner that will allow it to get noticed. After you have selected a list of possible keywords, pare it down using the keyword tool. In the next article I will address how to make sure your network marketing articles show up on the very first page when searched. The third will provide guidelines for how often to use them – how thick to sprinkle them – within each article for maximum ‘pick-up’ by the search engines.
